I am very delighted to get a gift from my next door neighbour. It was a little wooden elephant, very lively looking and with very good craftsmanship!

My neighbour Louis and Gemma have finally come back from their vacation.

They usually take a two-week holiday every year. This time they took it in India. As usual, I was the person looking after their house when they were away. I was their house-sitter for two weeks.

During these two weeks, I went to their house almost every day, to check things around and carry out the usual duties, such as picking up the letters, feeding their golden fish and watering a lot of plants in their sunroom. I feel it quite a responsibility, and enjoy doing it most of time, but not all the time.

"It was not a good trip at all", he told me.

The poor couple both got flu, and lost their energy and appetite the most time of their trip. They were attracted to some of the Indian local foods, and would like to try. But they could not because of the illness. Louise told me that the most of the places they visited were dirty. The roads were bad, so were the toilets.

"I made a wrong decision going to India", he sighed.

"The only thing memorable was the weather", he added.

However, I do like the Indian gift they brought for me. He is sitting on the left corner of my desk right now, watching me struggling out this English blog…
